Antique Dutch .833 Silver & Cobalt Glass Salt Cellars, Pair — J.M. van Kempen

A pair of antique Dutch salt cellars by J.M. van Kempen, the celebrated Dutch silversmiths. Submitted to us as solid .833 silver, the Dutch standard, each oval cellar has a pierced gallery of stylized leaves between beaded rims, stands on four little feet, and holds a deep cobalt glass liner. Each comes with a small salt spoon.

The cobalt against the silver is what makes these: a little jewel-toned moment on a set table, whether it's flaky salt at a dinner party or a dish for rings by the sink.

Condition
Vintage and pre-owned, with gentle wear consistent with age and use. Please look closely at the photos, which are shown exactly as the pieces are.

Care
Hand wash the silver and glass gently and dry right away. Polish the silver with a soft cloth; remove the glass liners before polishing and never put either in the dishwasher.
